Mrs Eliška Žigová, the Director of the Asia Pacific Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, was briefed on the current situation of Myanmar by U Linn Thant, the representative of the National Unity Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, to the Czech Republic, per the invitation of Her Excellency.

U Linn Thant, the representative of the National Unity Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the Czech Republic, had a private discussion with Mrs Eliška Žigová, the Director of the Asia Pacific Department of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. This discussion was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office of the Czech Republic this morning.

U Linn Thant discussed the current situation in Myanmar and how can the Czech Republic provide humanitarian assistance to Myanmar, including the Covid-19 vaccination.

Mrs Eliška Žigová also stated that the Czech Republic have concrete support to the people of Myanmar in restoring democracy. They also strongly condemn the violations of Human Rights by the military, and they urged the military to immediately all the violence. The Czech Republic is also discussing with international lawyers in officially and legally supporting the National Unity Government of Myanmar.

Mr Filip Kanda, a senior diplomat at the Asia Pacific Department, and Mr Lukáš Zícha, a Foreign Minister Office senior officer, were also present at the meeting.
