Dr. Tun Aung Shwe, Representative of the National Unity Government to Australia met virtually with senator Dean Smith (LNP) and MP Peter Khalil (ALP) per the invitation of the Australian Parliament to discuss the current situation in Myanmar.
Present at the meeting were representatives from a number of relevant organisations, and organisations working to support the Myanmar people.During the meeting, Dr Tun apprised the Australia Representatives of the ongoing crisis and discussed the priorities and ongoing work of the NUG.
The meeting also covered the ongoing efforts of the NUG, CRPH, and people of Myanmar to restore democracy to the country, and avenues for the Australian Government and Parliament to support the reestablishment of a meaningful, functional, federal democracy in Myanmar.
