Nan Su Mon Aung
NUG MOFA Representative
Nan Su Mon Aung was born in 1989 in Karen State, and belongs to the Karen and Pa’O ethnics. In 2012, she graduated with a Master of Science in Zoology from Hpa-An University and used to teach there as a demonstrator, as well as a volunteer teacher for local communities, before completing in 2018 a Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from Sorbonne University in France.
Willing to share that experience with her fellow Burmese people, she created in 2017 a Facebook page, then in 2019 a website called “International Scholarships for Myanmar Students”, which aim to provide Burmese students with free up-to-date information concerning available scholarships and grants, as well as educational tips.
She is currently working as a part time teacher in the National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations in Paris, France (INALCO).
Even she has no political background, she has during her all life been a fervent supporter of democracy in Myanmar, as a requirement for peace and development of the country.
Therefore, she has actively participated since the February 1, 2021 Coup as a member of the Burmese Community in France organization to contribute to the success of the Spring Revolution, because she believes that Burmese people abroad have the duty to use their freedom to help those who have been deprived of it by the military regime in Myanmar.
