Notification for Myanmar Nationals Residing in the Kingdom of Thailand
14 January 2026
- In light of the ongoing atrocities and brutal repression perpetrated by the terrorist junta, together with the limited economic opportunities within Myanmar, many Myanmar nationals have been compelled to flee their homeland and seek temporary refuge in neighbouring Thailand.
- The National Unity Government earnestly urges Myanmar nationals residing in the Kingdom of Thailand to observe the following during their stay:
(a) Refrain from any involvement in the political or administrative affairs of Thailand.
(b) Refrain from engaging in any unlawful activities.
(c) Respect and comply with the laws and regulations of Thailand, as well as its cultural traditions, local customs, and practices.
(d) Live in harmony with host community, in accordance with their values and ways of life. - The National Unity Government expresses its profound gratitude to His Majesty the King of Thailand, the Royal Thai Government, and the Thai people for extending protection and refuge to Myanmar nationals who, for various reasons, have been forced to flee their homeland. The National Unity Government respectfully appeals for the continued support and compassionate assistance, with due consideration from a humanitarian perspective.
