U Yan Naing Htun

U Yan Naing Htun was born on 30th September 1970 from father U Myint Soe and mother Daw Mya Yee in the town called Kha Yan. He is the younger of two siblings.

He joined the 8888 general national protest from Rangoon and later moved to Mandalay and Sagaing Divisions and joined the students protest movement of upper burma as information in charge with the assumed name called Nay Hnin Ni.

Regarding education, he finished first year of economics study and could not continue the studies because of political reasons. He continued to get involved in politics.

During 1989-90, he arrived at the Thai-Burma border area but returned to Burma to join the party called Democratic Party for New Society and he was active as Secretary of the Party of Tamwe township of Rangoon.

After 1990, he arrived back to Thai-Burma border area and in December of 1990, he arrived to Korea and engaged in democratic activities for Burma.

In 1998, he organized the National League for Dmocracy in liberated area “NLD” (LA) Korea branch and applied for political assylum in Korea.

In 2015, NLD LA was changed to NLD International Organizing Committee, Korea and he was elected as the Vice Chairman of the organization. Later in 2016, he became Chairman of the organization till to date.

In 2006, he became EC member of the international Burma Media Association (BMA). He continuously engaged in eradicating works of military dictatorship and restoring democracy for Burma.
